As part of the Junior Landcare Paddock, the Blackall Range Woodcrafters Guild and Maleny Men’s Shed have collaborated with Maleny Wood Expo to come up with a workshop that offers the little Wood Expo attendees the opportunity to make a Mothers’ Day gift. Men from both organisations have been working hard to come up with ideas that are easy and relatively quick. There will be templates of numerous items ready for all the finishing touches; gluing, clamping, knocking dowel in with a dead hammer, sanding and varnishing.
There will even be some simple projects for the very little people under the age of 5. The team taking care of this project have come up with the following items for young woodworkers to make:
- a little boat for those under 5
- a cheese or cutting board
- a key holder in the shape of an animal
- toast tongs
- plant holder
There will also be a small workshop station in this tent that will be looked after by Gregory Machinery and they will be offering the young people the chance to make jigsaws and a selection of little native animals. We have ensured that these activities offer a variety of options suitable for participants of all ages.
This workshop tent will be available to children from 10am to 2pm (no bookings required) and it is completely free for all participants, no matter which activity they choose to engage in.
This workshop is part of the Junior Landcare Paddock activities at the Maleny Wood Expo
